If someone messaged you — how ChamTracker touches your data _Last updated: 11 August 2026_ This page is for people **on the other side of the conversation** — if a salesperson ("setter") who messaged you on Instagram uses ChamTracker, this explains what that means for you. ## What happens ChamTracker is a notebook for the setter's own conversations. When the setter connects their Instagram account to ChamTracker, the messages both of you send from that point on — plus your Instagram username — are stored in the setter's private ChamTracker account, so their sales activity (replies, booked calls, and so on) can be counted automatically. Short excerpts are processed by an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) to label what happened in the conversation — including, where you described one, the type of problem you were hoping to solve; your email address or phone number is masked before that happens. These labels are categories, not copies of your words, and any quote shown alongside them disappears when the message text is deleted (see below). ChamTracker also counts how often those categories come up across the setter's own conversations and turns the counts — never your words — into suggested topics the business could talk about publicly. ## What does NOT happen - Your messages are **never sold, shared, or used for advertising**. - Nobody but that setter — and, where the setter's business turns on team access, the setter's manager (see below) — can see them. The platform operator can also access them, for support and legal requests only. - ChamTracker never messages anyone on its own — any message you receive is written and sent by the setter, exactly as if it were sent from Instagram. ChamTracker itself only reads what the setter can already see in their own inbox. ## If the setter works in a team Some businesses let a **manager** see their setters' ChamTracker data — the same counts and conversations the setter sees, nothing more. This only happens when both the setter and the manager have agreed to it, the manager can look but never change or send anything, every time a manager looks it is recorded, and either of them can switch it off at any time. One firm rule: the words of any message sent **before 6 August 2026** are never shown to a manager, because those messages were collected before this notice mentioned managers. Managers only ever see message text from that date onwards. ## How long it's kept The words of the messages are automatically deleted after **90 days**. Counts derived from them (e.g. "a call was booked") are kept while the setter's account exists. ## Your rights You can ask what is held about you, get a copy of it, or have all of it permanently deleted — even if you don't know which setter uses ChamTracker. Email **aidanryancham@gmail.com** with the Instagram handle the setter contacted you on. Deletion also blocks that setter's ChamTracker from storing your future messages. We respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office ([ico.org.uk](https://ico.org.uk)) or your local data-protection authority. ## Changes to this notice - **12 August 2026** — noted that category counts (never message words) can be turned into suggested public content topics for the setter's business. - **11 August 2026** — noted that conversation labelling can include the type of problem you described (a category only — your words themselves still delete after 90 days, and no new copies of them are kept). - **6 August 2026** — added the "If the setter works in a team" section: a manager approved by both the setter and the business can now see the setter's ChamTracker data (read-only, recorded, revocable). Message text from before this date is never shown to managers. - **26 July 2026** — first published.
